Illinois Metro Industrial Areas Foundation Network Forum, 4 PM, March 11

The Illinois affiliates of the Industrial Areas Foundation are planning a large assembly of 1,000+ from our member organizations in Cook, Lake, DuPage, and Kane counties. The purpose of the assembly is to engage all candidates for Illinois Attorney General around four central issue priorities that we have and will continue to address at the state, county and local levels.

The four main issue priorities include:

  • Ending the incarceration of innocent people experiencing addiction and/or mental illness
  • Building affordable and accessible housing for individuals, families and young adults
  • Ensuring humane and legal treatment of immigrants and refugees throughout Illinois
  • Demanding accountability from gun manufacturers on development of “smart” guns and sales to “crime-gun” dealers

The Illinois Metro Industrial Areas Foundation network is made up of four organizations in Cook, Lake, DuPage and Kane Counties. These organizations involve 85 religious congregations of all faiths, civic groups, and other associations. Each affiliate is independent and non-partisan and works to address complex problems affecting families throughout our region. The four organizations are affiliates of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), the oldest and largest network of broad-based community organizations in the country.
